Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with experience in diverse clinical settings. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with licensed therapists to implement treatment plans, promote patient recovery, and support overall wellness across various patient populations. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility settings. Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and assist with modalities to improve patient mobility and function. Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to supervising therapists. Support discharge planning efforts by preparing patients for transition from acute care or inpatient settings to home or outpatient environments. Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention strategies, and activity modifications tailored to specific needs such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or post-surgical recovery. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and healthcare regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes and promote holistic healing. Qualifications Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state or regional regulations. Proven experience in physiotherapy within inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and various therapeutic techniques including trigger point therapy. Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring discharge planning. Strong understanding of acute care protocols and outpatient clinic procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration. Ability to adapt treatment approaches based on patient needs while maintaining safety standards.
