Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Perform therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other modalities to facilitate recovery. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and patient responses accurately following established medical documentation standards. Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper functionality. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and discharge strategies. Support patient care activities across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, and home health. Ensure compliance with clinical documentation standards and maintain electronic health records (EHR) management with meticulous attention to detail. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in physical therapy treatment implementation within inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, or home health settings. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice. Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation practices. Skilled in manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and effectively during treatment sessions. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages—including geriatrics and pediatrics—as well as collaborating with healthcare professionals. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) management and adherence to clinical documentation standards. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development for diverse patient populations. Prior inpatient experience or skilled nursing facility experience is highly preferred; outpatient or clinic experience is also valuable.
