Overview The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in supporting licensed physical therapists by providing high-quality rehabilitative care across various settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and more in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping patients achieve their recovery goals. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics and neurology Deliver therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, physiotherapy techniques, and other modalities to promote healing and mobility Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in medical records Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility strategies, and injury prevention techniques Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities to ensure seamless patient care Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and medical terminology standards Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice Proficiency in physical therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies Experience working with diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, neurological and orthopedics in outpatient settings Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual patient needs Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration Familiarity with discharge planning processes.
