Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Technician and play a vital role in supporting patient recovery and rehabilitation. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to diverse patient populations. Your enthusiasm for helping others, combined with your knowledge of physiology and patient care, will contribute to positive outcomes in our out patient clinic. Responsibilities Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, equipment, and materials for therapy sessions. Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and exercises using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques. Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, documenting responses and providing feedback to the healthcare team. Ensure patient safety by adhering to proper safety protocols, including heavy lifting procedures and maintaining patient confidentiality. Help with intake procedures, including collecting patient insurance, histories, and explaining therapy routines clearly. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment documentation in compliance with hospital policies. Support rehabilitation care efforts through assisting with post-acute care plans, outpatient therapies across various specialties such as orthopedics, geriatrics or post-operative care. Skills Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to physiotherapy. Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy or rehabilitation role within hospital or clinical settings. Excellent client communication skills to effectively explain procedures and motivate patients. Knowledge of patient transfer methods, manual handling techniques, and rehabilitation exercises. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting patients or moving equipment. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, or post-acute care patients. Certifications such as CPR may be required.
