Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

Physician Assistant position available on a 13‑week temp‑to‑perm contract in a rural clinic near Garberville, California. The role provides high‑quality patient care and the opportunity to transition to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high‑quality patient care in a clinical or urgent care setting Perform physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests within scope of practice Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with regulations Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and health management
Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Active California Physician Assistant license (or eligibility for reciprocity) NCCPA certification required DEA license (or willingness to obtain) BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong clinical decision‑making and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and patient interaction abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Adaptability in a fast‑paced or rural healthcare setting
Preferred Skills:
Minimum of one year of Physician Assistant experience preferred
