Douglas Family Medicine is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established outpatient primary care practice in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are looking for someone who is bright, proactive, eager to learn, and able to pick up new skills quickly . Previous primary care experience is welcomed, but new graduates are encouraged to apply . This is a great opportunity for a new or developing provider who wants to strengthen their clinical skills while working closely with an experienced physician and supportive healthcare team. The right candidate will be curious, dependable, resourceful, and comfortable asking questions while steadily developing greater clinical confidence and autonomy. Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in an outpatient family medicine setting. Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and follow-up visits. Diagnose and manage common acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions. Provide preventive care, annual physicals, wellness visits, and routine health screenings. Order and interpret laboratory testing, imaging, and other diagnostic studies. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician when appropriate. Prescribe medications and provide patient education and follow-up. Perform appropriate in-office procedures based on training and experience. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialists and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, preventive care, and lifestyle recommendations. Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, nursing, and administrative staff. Continue developing clinical knowledge and judgment through hands-on experience, physician mentorship, and ongoing learning. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current Colorado PA license or eligibility for Colorado licensure. NCCPA certification or eligibility. DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration. Current BLS certification. New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Previous experience in family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, or primary care is a plus, but not required. Strong desire to learn and grow as a primary care provider. Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and apply feedback. Good clinical judgment and willingness to ask questions when appropriate. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organized, dependable, professional, and team-oriented. Experience with EHR systems is helpful; familiarity with AthenaOne is a plus .
