Pelvic Health Physical Therapist Assistant Job Description Overview Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness is seeking a dedicated, caring, and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our specialty pelvic health clinic. Our clinic focuses on individualized, one-on-one treatment sessions. The PTA will work closely with our physical therapists to provide high-quality treatment under an established physical therapy plan of care. We are committed to creating a comfortable, safe, and compassionate environment while providing exceptional care to every patient. Our practice specializes in pregnancy and postpartum care as well as bladder, bowel, pelvic pain, and sexual health concerns. We offer both physical therapy and general wellness services. What We Offer An average caseload of approximately eight-ten patients per day One-hour treatment sessions, with some extended sessions Tuesday-Friday scheduling Opportunities for flexible scheduling, including evening hours if desired Close collaboration with physical therapists who specialize in pelvic and obstetric health Monthly mentorship and quarterly team development sessions Paid continuing education up to a designated annual amount Up to $3,000 in relocation assistance A supportive, collaborative specialty-clinic environment Responsibilities Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and within the established plan of care Work with patients experiencing pregnancy- and postpartum-related concerns, pelvic pain, bladder or bowel symptoms, and other pelvic health conditions Carry out therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, functional training, patient education, and other appropriate interventions Document patient treatment, response, and progress accurately and promptly Communicate changes in a patient's condition or progress to the supervising physical therapist Collaborate with the clinical team to provide consistent, patient-centered care Help patients feel comfortable, respected, and supported while discussing sensitive health concerns Maintain professional, ethical, and compassionate communication with patients and team members Requirements Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current or anticipated Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant license Interest in pelvic health, pregnancy, and postpartum rehabilitation Pelvic health experience or completion of a Level 1 pelvic floor course is preferred; training may be available for the right candidate New graduates with a strong interest in pelvic health are encouraged to apply Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and customer-service skills Ability to work collaboratively with supervising physical therapists Comfort working in a specialized, out-of-network clinic environment About Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness is an out-of-network pelvic health physical therapy clinic serving women, men, and children. Our areas of focus include pregnancy and postpartum care, pelvic pain, and bladder, bowel, and sexual health. EPHW opened in fall 2021 and continues to grow. Our team currently consists of three physical therapists and two patient care coordinators. We provide one-hour treatment sessions and evaluations lasting up to two hours, allowing us to thoroughly address each patient's concerns. Many of our patients have seen multiple healthcare providers before arriving at our specialty clinic, so compassion, excellent communication, and individualized care are essential.
