Monday - Friday Position Overview Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Outpatient Spine & Orthopedics Axis Spine & Orthopedics is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our outpatient spine and orthopedic practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and an interest in providing comprehensive care to patients with spine and musculoskeletal conditions. This position is well suited for an NP or PA who enjoys a fast-paced outpatient environment and is comfortable evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, reviewing diagnostic imaging, and collaborating with a spine specialist. Position Responsibilities Perform comprehensive new patient and follow-up evaluations for patients with spine and orthopedic conditions. Obtain detailed medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations. Evaluate and manage patients with conditions involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine as well as general orthopedic conditions Review and interpret relevant MRI, CT, X-ray, and other diagnostic imaging in conjunction with the patient's clinical presentation. Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's history, examination, imaging, and diagnosis. Provide conservative treatment recommendations, including physical therapy, medications, activity modification, and other appropriate non-operative treatments. Perform appropriate follow-up evaluations and monitor patient progress. Educate patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, and follow-up care. Identify patients who may require surgical evaluation or additional diagnostic workup and coordinate care with the supervising/consulting spine physician. Assist with preoperative and postoperative patient management as appropriate. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including histories, physical examinations, assessments, and treatment plans. Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, attorneys, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Participate in telehealth visits when appropriate and permitted. Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, practice policies, and professional standards. Provide compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care at all times. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: Hold an active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the applicable state. Have current national certification appropriate to their profession. Have experience in orthopedics, spine, neurosurgery, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or a related specialty preferred. Possess strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Be comfortable reviewing diagnostic imaging and correlating findings with the patient's clinical presentation. Be able to work independently while knowing when physician consultation is appropriate. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Be comfortable working in a busy outpatient clinical setting. Maintain a professional and patient-focused approach. Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a willingness to work collaboratively with the entire clinical team.
