Schedule:

Full-Time (36 Hours/Week), Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift:

Midnight Shift 7:00 PM

•7:30AMAs an Emergency Room Technical Assistant, you'll work side-by-side with nurses and providers to deliver timely, compassionate care during critical moments. Under direct supervision, you'll assist with procedures, perform vital tasks, and help ensure smooth operations in one of the hospital's most dynamic environments.

•Brownstown provides the Downriver and Brownstown Township communities, as well as southern Wayne and northern Monroe counties, a wide array of patient-focused services to meet their healthcare needs. Our 20-bed facility offers an easy-access emergency room, full-service laboratory, quick-fill pharmacy, radiology services, diagnostic sleep center, outpatient surgery, and care from top physicians and specialists.

What You'll Do:

Your day-to-day impact includes:

Assist with patient assessments, exams, and treatmentsPerform clinical tasks such as:o Drawing blood & collecting specimenso Performing EKGso Applying splints or immobilizerso Taking vital signs (adult and pediatric)o Inserting NG tubes, urethral catheterso Starting and discontinuing IVs (as applicable)Prepare and assist with procedures including suturing, casting, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and moreRecognize abnormal vitals or dysrhythmias and alert the RN/Provider immediatelyProvide patient and family support with professionalism and empathyMaintain equipment and supplies; clean and prepare rooms between patientsEnsure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital standards

QualificationsEducation/Experience Required:

High School Diploma or GED requiredBCLS Certification requiredPrevious experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting is a strong plusOne of the following is required at time of hireBasic EMT certificationCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant, nursing, or MD programOne year of Emergency Room Technical experienceEMT license preferredAbility to successfully complete a 180-day orientation program

Certifications/Licensures Required:

Must meet one of the following criteria:

Basic EMT (B-EMT) certificationGraduate of a formal Medical Assistant programCompletion of a formal nursing education programCompletion of a formal medical doctor education programOROne (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience (Must complete one of the above certifications/programs within 12 months of hire)

Additional Requirements:

EMT license preferredSuccessful completion of a 180-day orientation period is required
