1: 5 Munson Medical Center and the partnering Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team of four cardiothoracic physicians and eight advanced practice providers.

Munson Healthcare is northern Michigan's largest healthcare system, caring for a half million lives. Munson Medical Center, located in Traverse City Michigan is the only level II trauma tertiary center with over 600 heart cases annually and 280 TAVRs. In this position you will join a team of knowledgeable and skilled medical staff representing more than seventy-six specialties, working in a collaborative, quality, patient-centered environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
InpatientAdmit patients to the hospital, perform daily rounds, write orders, daily progress notes, discharge summaries, etc.

Pre & post op education and teaching with patient and family.

Prescribe both pharmacologic agents (pre & post-op), and non-pharmacologic therapies (ie: PT, OT, NST, etc.).Order/interpret diagnostic imaging and tests/labs.

OR 1st AssistFirst assist surgeons in operating room daily with scheduled and add-on surgical cases.

Assist OR coordinators with correct case card selection/supply/equipment needs.

Assist OR circulating RN and surgical tech with appropriate supplies and equipment/flow of surgical cases to enhance efficiency.

QualificationsEducation/Training:
 Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies.
