Job Description

If you're a Physician Assistant (PA-C) looking for a high-acuity interventional and diagnostic radiology role near Charlotte, NC, and you want to work at the top of your license without sacrificing your evenings and weekends, this is that rare combination. The Role Gaston Radiology is adding a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to a well-established team supporting a group of radiologists across hospital and outpatient imaging locations, including our partnership with CaroMont Regional Medical Center. You'll independently perform a genuinely broad range of interventional and diagnostic radiology procedures in collaboration with the physician team. What You'll Do Perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, including ultrasound, fluoroscopic, and CT-guided procedures, dialysis circuit thrombolysis drain placements, barium studies, joint injections, and superficial and deep biopsies. Rotate across hospital locations and diagnostic imaging centers, working with a rotating group of radiologists rather than being confined to one fixed team Manage medically complex patients with real decision-making authority, from consultation through post-procedure care Interpret imaging and laboratory studies within your scope of practice Serve as a trusted clinical resource for patients, families, and staff What We're Looking For Someone who works confidently and independently, but is just as quick to step in and support a teammate without being asked A clinician who genuinely enjoys learning and expanding their skill set, not someone looking to coast on what they already know Clear, steady communication with patients and physicians alike, especially when a patient is anxious or a situation gets complex Meticulous documentation habits, because in this role, precision isn't optional Current NCCPA Certification (PA-C), active unrestricted NC Medical Board License, active DEA License, and current BLS Direct radiology experience strongly preferred; at minimum, two years of direct patient care, ideally in vascular surgery, surgery, or critical care Experience with EPIC EMR, McKesson PACS, or PowerScribe is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Medical, including dental and vision and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Competitive PTO, plus an additional week of PTO specifically to cover continuing education time $3,000 annual reimbursement for continuing medical education (CME) About Gaston Radiology Gaston Radiology has served Gaston County, NC and the surrounding region just west of Charlotte, NC, since 1949, providing imaging services for the county's largest medical system, anchored by CaroMont Regional Medical Center. As the region grows, so does the practice, including the 2025 expansion into a new acute care hospital in Belmont, extending our reach toward Charlotte's western edge. Our physician partners are board-certified across specialties including interventional and neuroradiology, mammography, and nuclear medicine, supported by physician assistants and other advanced practice providers with deep radiology experience. Despite our growth, we've held on to what matters: a close-knit, family-like team where people actually know each other.
