An Emergency Room Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in emergency rooms or emergency departments, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Job Description

What We Offer Coordinates and assists the provider and nursing to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. Provides and documents clinical care and maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/APP or physician. While CNA I and CNA II can work under the license of a physician or APP, they must work a minimum of 8 hours every 24 months directly supervised by an RN employed at the clinic, per the North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements for licensure, or make arrangements for them to complete this supervision at a sister NHMG clinic location.
What You'll Do Education:
High School or GED requiared.
Experience:
Two years, preferred. Acute experience for CNA 1. One year, preferred - CNA2 or EMT One year, preferred - Experience in healthcare setting or Physician Assistant or medical school student enrolled in an accredited program or gap year.
Licensure/Certification:
(required): NA I in good standing within the NA registry;
OR NA II
in good standing with NA II certification with required state; OR EMT current credential in appropriate state; OR One year clinical (medical) office experience; OR Physician Assistant or Medical School student enrolled in accredited program or in gap year Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
