A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

One of the most highly regarded neurosurgery programs in Oregon is currently seeking a motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in Medford, Oregon . The surgeons and current Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) have an excellent history of training and retaining PAs for the long term, and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply! Ideal candidates will have a background in neurosurgery or a related surgical field (either as a practicing PA or through specific clinical rotations) and must be comfortable transitioning between outpatient, inpatient, and OR settings. Description Full-time permanent position - Neurosurgery Physician Assistant 50/50 split between first-assisting in the operating room and outpatient clinic Variety of spinal and cranial cases See patients for pre-op assessments and post-op follow-ups in the clinic Conduct hospital rounds Participate in a rotating call schedule, approximately 1 in 5 weeks ( stipend is provided for on-call duties) Monday through Friday schedule, with no weekend requirements outside of the assigned call schedule Qualifications Ability to obtain Oregon Physician Assistant license Previous experience in a surgical specialty New graduates with clinical rotations in relevant surgical subspecialties Compensation and Benefits Highly competitive base salary Quarterly bonus structure Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance and Long-term Disability insurance Malpractice insurance coverage
