May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Physician Assistant (PA) with a passion for psychiatry to join our team in a flexible 1099 role. This position offers the opportunity to work virtually, in person, or through a hybrid model, supporting patients with mental health and addiction needs. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse settings. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations including intake, history, and focused exams as needed, documenting in RXNT Prescribe psychiatric medications in accordance with DEA regulations and a collaborative practice agreement with Medical Director. This is outpatient psychiatry. Manage outpatient psychiatric conditions, including follow-up, medication adjustments, and safety planning. Refer out for crisis or a higher level of care. This is not ICU, ventilator, or acute pain work Document clinical encounters in RXNT the same day, with accurate ICD-10 coding for billing Collaborate with Medical Director, and admin team. Refer internally if a patient also needs addiction medicine or TMS. You do not treat SUD and you do not run TMS Complete follow-up visits, refill management, and care coordination for ongoing outpatient psychiatry patients Provide patient education on psychiatric medications, side effects, follow-up, and when to contact the clinic Requirements Current Physician Assistant certification with active state licensure in good standing Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency rooms is preferred Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is a plus Strong background in psychiatry or behavioral health settings with knowledge of CPT coding and medical treatment protocols Critical care experience including ICU or neonatal ventilator management is advantageous Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools including diagnostic test interpretation and data collection methods Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to perform physical examinations and medical records review accurately Knowledge of aseptic techniques, drug administration procedures, airway management, and emergency response procedures such as critical & intensive care protocols Join us at Shanti Recovery & Wellness to make a meaningful impact on mental health recovery while enjoying flexible work arrangements designed to support your professional growth!
