We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a correctional healthcare setting. This Part Time opportunity offers the chance to work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary medical team consisting of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and medical assistants dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare to an underserved patient population. The APP will evaluate and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, perform routine health assessments, and collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure safe, timely, and evidence-based care. This position is ideal for an APP who enjoys practicing at the top of their license in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of patients. Required and Preferred Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below: Physician Assistant or
AGPNP/ANP
(Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP): Adult pts (13 years to death), stable chronic disease state management or primary care setting. FNP (Family NP): (birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan. DHEC and DEA license Basic Life Support (BLS)
Position Highlights :
Friday's 8am-4:30pm or Tuesday and Friday 8am-12pm Outpatient Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician Documents and bills for direct care provided Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members Perform patient evaluations, consultations, and procedural planning Obtain informed consent and educate patients on procedures Perform procedures within APP scope of practice Benefits & Resources for
