Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable PA/NP to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating patients with sleep-wake disorders, ensuring they achieve restful sleep and improved quality of life. Your expertise in sleep medicine, physiology, and medical equipment operation will be essential in delivering exceptional patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on advancing sleep health through comprehensive assessments and innovative treatment strategies. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and evaluate patients presenting with sleep-related complaints. Perform diagnostic evaluations including sleep studies (polysomnography testing) and interpret data to identify sleep disorders. Manage and adjust continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines to optimize therapy for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Educate patients on sleep hygiene, use of medical equipment, and treatment plans to promote adherence and improve outcomes. Document patient interactions, test results, and treatment progress using electronic health records in Athena systems with precision and confidentiality. Experience Proven experience working with individuals diagnosed with sleep-wake disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, or restless leg syndrome. Hands-on experience operating polysomnography equipment, respiratory therapy devices like CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other medical equipment related to sleep medicine. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to the respiratory system and nervous system involved in sleep regulation. Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities. Prior experience conducting physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and interpreting complex medical data related to sleep studies. Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional credentials in sleep medicine or respiratory therapy are preferred.
