Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) -
Vascular Access & Ultrasound-Guided Procedures Champion Health System Locations:
Fountain Valley, Orange County, CA Position Type:
Full-Time About Champion Health System Champion Health System is one of the fastest-growing cardiovascular and vascular organizations, specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Our mission is to provide cutting-edge outpatient care while expanding access to advanced cardiovascular, vascular, and interventional services throughout North Carolina. We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with expertise in ultrasound-guided PICC line and central venous catheter placement to join our growing procedural team. We are hiring one provider for each Champion Health System location . Position Summary The NP/PA will perform ultrasound-guided vascular access procedures while providing comprehensive patient care in collaboration with our board-certified interventional cardiologists and interventional radiologists. This role is ideal for providers who enjoy procedural medicine and working in a fast-paced outpatient environment utilizing advanced ultrasound-guided techniques. Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound-guided PICC line placement.
  • Perform ultrasound-guided internal jugular, femoral, and other central venous catheter placements.
  • Evaluate patients for vascular access needs.
  • Perform pre-procedure assessments and obtain informed consent.
  • Utilize sterile technique and ultrasound guidance for all vascular access procedures.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures.
  • Recognize and manage procedural complications.
  • Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and referring providers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with additional office-based vascular and procedural services as needed. Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current California NP or PA license (or eligible for licensure).
  • Current DEA registration (or eligibility).
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing ultrasound-guided PICC line and/or central venous catheter placement independently.
  • Strong ultrasound skills.
  • Excellent procedural and patient communication skills. Preferred
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or Vascular Access Teams.
  • Experience with midline catheter placement.
  • Experience placing dialysis catheters.
  • Experience with arterial line placement.
  • Familiarity with fluoroscopy-guided procedures is a plus. Schedule
