Negotiable Job Description Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Gastroenterologist, you will join a team dedicated to truly optimizing healthcare for the communities we serve in Durango and the surrounding region. This position will provide exceptional digestive health care while contributing to the delivery of the highest quality and most cost-effective healthcare within our integrated delivery system. Every day you will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. You will perform upper and lower endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, colonoscopy, and other advanced gastrointestinal procedures, while collaborating closely with primary care providers, hospitalists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and multidisciplinary specialists to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. As a key member of the digestive health service line, you will help expand access to comprehensive gastroenterology services while building strong relationships with referring providers and serving patients throughout the Four Corners region. To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate Gastroenterologist who is committed to delivering exceptional digestive healthcare. You will support organizational goals through clinical excellence, physician collaboration, exceptional patient experience, and community engagement. Through your work, you will help advance a sustainable, growing, and distinctive organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities throughout Southwest Colorado. You will possess expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal and liver diseases, along with advanced endoscopic skills, strong communication abilities, and outstanding clinical judgment. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement. We are offering a competitive $700,000 base, a generous CME allowance, and recruiting incentives, which include a sign-on bonus, student loan assistance, and relocation assistance for new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements Required:

Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty. Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency ("DEA") registration; Be board certified/ board eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital; Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution Doctorate MD or DO required Active or eligible unrestricted license to practice medicine in Colorado #HEC Where You'll Work Mercy Hospital is an 82 bed, acute care hospital located in the scenic southwestern Colorado town of Durango.
