2996667972-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Hartford Healthcare seeks an experienced Cardiac Surgeon to join our leading not-for-profit system in Connecticut. In this role, you will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures, including evaluation, operative management, and post-operative follow-up. You will collaborate closely with cardiology, anesthesia, and critical care teams, leveraging advanced technologies and evidence-based protocols. Responsibilities Perform complex cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical procedures following evidence-based standards Evaluate patients pre-operatively, including risk assessment and care planning Manage post-operative care in collaboration with cardiology, ICU, and nursing teams Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives Document clinical care accurately in the electronic medical record Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers Collaborate with anesthesia, perfusion, and OR staff to optimize outcomes Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and safety protocols Engage in continuing medical education and maintain board certification Contribute to program development, research, or clinical innovation as appropriate Required Skills Cardiac surgery Cardiothoracic procedures Pre- and post-operative patient management OR team leadership Use of advanced surgical technology ECG and imaging interpretation Clinical documentation Quality and safety protocols Infection control Patient and family communication
