  • ~19K Projected Annual Visits
  • 12 Private Treatment Rooms
EM/FM/IM
Pathways Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Winter Haven, Florida. Practice in a newly opened, 24/7 freestanding Emergency Department designed to provide full-service emergency care for both adults and children. The site is projected to see approximately 19,000 patients annually — about 52 patients per day — with 12 private treatment rooms, dedicated trauma and pediatric treatment spaces, and direct integration with a full-service hospital network for patients requiring admission or specialty care. Opportunity Highlights
  • Freestanding Emergency Department
  • 24/7 emergency care
  • Adult and pediatric patient population
  • Approximately 19,000 projected annual visits
  • Approximately 52 patients per day
  • 12 private patient care rooms
  • Dedicated trauma room
  • Dedicated pediatric treatment room
  • Newly opened Emergency Department
  • Integrated hospital network for admissions and higher levels of care Clinical Environment This is a true freestanding Emergency Department—not an urgent care setting—with the capability to evaluate and stabilize a broad range of adult and pediatric emergencies.
Current public information confirms the facility provides emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for conditions ranging from fractures and lacerations to chest pain, stroke symptoms, respiratory illness, and other potentially serious presentations. The department's physical environment includes:
  • 12 private patient care rooms
  • Dedicated trauma room
  • Dedicated pediatric treatment room
  • Adult and pediatric emergency care
  • Approximately 52 projected patient visits/day Florida's current facility profile independently classifies the location as a hospital-based off-campus Emergency Department, reinforcing that this is hospital-level emergency care delivered in a freestanding setting.
Seamless Admission & Specialty Support Patients requiring inpatient admission can be transferred into the affiliated hospital network with a coordinated clinical handoff to hospitalists, intensivists, and specialists. That provides the advantages of a focused freestanding ED environment while maintaining connectivity to hospital-based resources when patients require inpatient or specialty care. Physician Requirements Candidates must meet one of the following pathways:
  • ABEM board certified or board eligible, or
  • AOBEM board certified or board eligible, or
  • Board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with at least three years of Emergency Medicine experience
Additionally:
  • ACLS required
  • PALS required
  • Comfortable treating both adult and pediatric Emergency Department patients Why This Opportunity Stands Out
New Freestanding ED:
The facility opened in January 2026, providing physicians an opportunity to work in a newly established Emergency Department.
    Focused Community Volume:
At approximately 19K projected annual visits / 52 patients per day, this is a very different practice proposition from a high-volume main-campus ED.
      Purpose-Built Emergency Space:
Twelve private treatment rooms are complemented by dedicated trauma and pediatric treatment rooms.
        Multiple Physician Pathways:
The opportunity isn't limited exclusively to
        ABEM/AOBEM
physicians. Experienced FM and IM physicians with three years of Emergency Medicine experience can also qualify.
          Connected When Patients Need More:
Patients requiring admission transition into the affiliated hospital network with hospitalist, intensivist, and specialist support rather than remaining at the freestanding site. Why Providers Choose Rhino Medical
