Job Description

(Physician/MD qualifications required) Family Practice - The Center is growing, and we need family medicine|internal medicine providers to join us. As a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, our focus is meeting the medical, dental and mental health needs of the insured, non-insured and under-insured people in our community and to provide accessible, cost-effective, high quality, comprehensive healthcare throughout Indian River County, Florida. The Health Center provides integrated patient care services in primary care, behavioral health, women's health and dentistry. Physician provides comprehensive medical services for patients, regardless of age or gender, on a continuing basis. Actively participates in direct delivery of safe patient care and maintains a safe comfortable environment for patients. Works in cooperation with nursing, co-workers, other center departments, physicians and nursing management staff. Establishes effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families and co-workers. Communicates in a professional and caring manner, assuring positive practice in the community being served. Functions as the coordinator of the care delivered to any patient presented to the practice and being cared for by the physician. Directs the efforts of the office to provide for the highest quality of medical care. Communicates with the practice, Medical Director, and other physicians to promote the smooth running of medical affairs, including obtaining time appropriate consultation as required for patient care. Documents accurate and complete accounts of interactions with patients in the patient's electronic medical record. Completes medical records to ensure that all patients have an initial history, physical examination and ongoing preventive medicine that is appropriate by age and disease category according to the accepted standard of care. Reads notes and initials as required and completes records within 48 hours of the visit. Provides on-call pager coverage on weekend and evenings on a rotating schedule with other providers. Assists in orienting and supervising employees or affiliating nursing staff and medical students.
