Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Part-Time Outpatient Family Medicine | Kailua, Hawaiʻi Trade Winds Family Medicine (Kailua, Oʻahu) was founded with the vision of creating a medical practice that values the development of a patient-provider partnership. We are a full-service family medicine home offering comprehensive care for the entire family, from infants to seniors. Our services include disease prevention, screening, and management for adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, as well as outpatient gynecology. We are seeking an enthusiastic Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant/Physician Associate (PA-C) who is looking for a long-term professional home to join our team in Kailua, Hawaiʻi. This is a part-time position of 0.425-0.475 FTE (17-19 total paid hours per week) , including patient-contact time and flexible administrative time. This position is not benefits eligible. This role is especially well suited to a clinician who values a sustainable, reduced-hours practice and is seeking a stable, long-term position while remaining engaged in meaningful, broad-scope primary care.
Pay:
$51,000-$71,000 per year (total target annual compensation)
Schedule:
The position may be structured as either: Two clinical days per week: approximately 8 hours of patient contact per day, plus 3 hours of flexible administrative time (total 19 hours/week, 0.475 FTE); or Three clinical days per week: approximately 5 hours of patient contact per day, plus 2 hours of flexible administrative time (total 17 hours/week, 0.425 FTE). Specific workdays and clinic hours will be established collaboratively based on the clinician's availability and practice coverage needs. Administrative time is flexible and may be completed remotely.
Clinical and administrative expectations:
On non-clinic days, the provider is expected to log in once per day, at a flexible time, to respond to telephone consults (Tcons) and review labs and diagnostic results. An assigned Medical Assistant as well as front office staff will be available to support this workflow.
Compensation structure:
Total target compensation includes a guaranteed base salary plus a quarterly performance incentive. The incentive portion is paid quarterly upon achievement of defined metrics including productivity, quality of care, patient experience, and documentation timeliness. Starting compensation reflects initial panel-building and may be reviewed as the provider's patient panel and productivity grow over time.
Additional earning opportunity:
Extra coverage shifts may be available beyond the regular schedule at a competitive daily rate. Shifts scheduled adjacent to a paid practice holiday week are compensated at an increased holiday rate.

Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to patients across the lifespan Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Perform preventive visits, screening, immunizations, and health-maintenance care Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans within scope of practice Provide outpatient gynecologic care within training and scope of practice Coordinate care with physician colleagues, specialists, and community resources Respond to telephone consults and review labs and diagnostics on non-clinic days (one remote login per day, at a flexible time) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in eClinicalWorks Contribute to an efficient, organized, and collaborative outpatient practice
Qualifications:
Current Hawaiʻi license National certification appropriate to the role Ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration Interest in full-spectrum outpatient family medicine and caring for patients of all ages Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care Desire to establish a long-term practice with ongoing patient relationships Longitudinal primary-care experience is preferred.
