We are looking for a NP or PA to join a collaborative team working with all ages of patients in the Wapello Clinic. Position Details:
This NP or PA will work alongside an experienced PA to provide a wide range of primary care services that combine independent practice with collaborative care.
Their work includes:
Comprehensive patient care - evaluating patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, for both acute illnesses (colds, infections, minor injuries) and chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, heart disease). Health promotion and prevention - conducting annual physicals, well-child visits, immunizations, Medicare wellness exams, and patient education on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle. Diagnosis and treatment - ordering and interpreting lab tests, imaging, and other diagnostics; prescribing medications; developing and managing treatment plans. Chronic disease management - adjusting medications, monitoring progress, coordinating follow-ups, and providing education and support for long-term health conditions. Procedures - performing basic in-office procedures like suturing, lesion removal, joint injections, or wound care depending on the APP's training, etc. Care coordination - referring patients to specialists when needed, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members, and helping patients navigate available community resources. Acute care - managing walk-in or same-day visits for minor injuries, infections, respiratory illnesses, and other urgent needs. Patient-centered approach - Provide consistent, trusted point of care for individuals and families. 2+ years of experience as a NP/PA in internal medicine/primary care preferred A team-first mindset and strong communication skills Someone who takes ownership of their practice and contributes to the team's growth Comfort with autonomy and a passion for helping to develop and expand a growing service line.
