Orthopedic APP - Hand | Portland, ME Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is hiring a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hand Department team in Portland, ME. With offices in Portland, Brunswick, and Windham, our board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians and skilled therapists provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care—all under one roof. From onsite physician clinics, physical therapy, and hand therapy at all sites to our dedicated Orthopaedic Ambulatory Surgery Center and OrthoAccess walk-in clinic in Portland, we offer seamless operative and non-operative care throughout the course of treatment. Our providers are nationally and internationally recognized experts in their fields who are committed to our community and help patients live pain free and get back to the activities they love.
Currently seeking:
We are currently looking for an advanced practice professional (PA or NP with an RNFA) to join our Hand team. The position is 32-26 hours per week (.8 -.9 FTE). The position will have a hand focus with some exposure to general orthopedics. The position is 70% clinical and 30% operative with call responsibility of approximately 1:8. Call is taken from home. Compensation is commensurate with experience for the base salary with bonus opportunities.
Position Summary:
Providers working in the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position deliver exceptional patient care in both the specialty clinics and as the first assist to our orthopedic surgeons in surgery. In clinic the APPs see New, follow up, and pre-op & post-op patients with graduated responsibility for patient management under physician supervision. In the operating room they assist preparing patients for surgery and directly assisting the surgeon during the procedures in both our surgery center and at local hospitals. Occasional on-call and off-hours coverage is required including availability to answer patient calls/questions, assisting with urgent surgeries when needed and rounding. Our APPs are an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality healthcare, and supporting our physicians and guiding clinical staff.
