Job Description
UNC Health Lenoir is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Cardiologist to join UNC Cardiology at Lenoir, located in eastern North Carolina. This is an employed, full-time opportunity with a growing cardiology program and strong institutional support. This position will play a key role in establishing and expanding general cardiology services for a community with significant patient need, with the opportunity to work closely alongside interventional cardiology colleagues. Financial & Benefits Package Competitive guaranteed base salary with RVU production bonus and quality incentive Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance Qualifications Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Cardiology Interest in program growth and building a community-based cardiology practice strongly desired Open to experienced physicians or new graduates with strong institutional support Practice Outpatient-focused General Cardiology practice with inpatient consult coverage Collaboration with Interventional Cardiology for procedural and STEMI-related care 14 days of call coverage, shared with UNC cardiology partners and community providers No in-house call required Join a collegial team including Interventional and Non-Invasive Cardiologists, with APP support and plans to expand APP coverage APPs manage their own clinic panels and support inpatient consults New cath lab opening March 2026, supporting comprehensive cardiovascular care No onsite CV surgery; established transfer agreement with ECU Health in Greenville Typical schedule includes clinic-based practice, manageable daily patient volumes, and protected administrative time Kinston & Eastern North Carolina Kinston offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a rural, underserved community while enjoying a collaborative medical environment and strong UNC Health backing.
