Monmouth Medical Center | Long Branch, New Jersey RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Monmouth Medical Center, a nationally recognized academic medical center and one of New Jersey's premier destinations for women's healthcare. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary leader to guide a highly respected department performing approximately 6,000 births annually while advancing clinical excellence, physician engagement, program growth, and innovation across the full spectrum of women's health services. The Chair will provide strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and will play a critical role in shaping the future of women's healthcare throughout the region. This leader will partner closely with hospital and system leadership to expand access, strengthen subspecialty services, recruit and retain top talent, and further elevate Monmouth Medical Center as a destination program for comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care. Position Highlights Lead one of New Jersey's premier Women's Health programs with approximately 6,000 deliveries annually Oversee a comprehensive department that includes general OB/GYN and a growing network of subspecialty services Opportunity to build upon a well-established program supported by advanced maternal-fetal medicine services, NICU capabilities, and state-of-the-art technology Approximately 50% clinical and 50% administrative responsibilities Collaborate with executive leadership to drive strategic growth initiatives and enhance patient care across the region Join New Jersey's largest integrated academic healthcare system Candidate Requirements MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience within a hospital or healthcare organization providing comparable levels of obstetrical and gynecologic care Demonstrated success leading physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams within a complex healthcare system Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey (NJ licensure required upon hire) Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach Experience within an academic or teaching environment is preferred, but not required Key Responsibilities Provide overall strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Partner with hospital and system leadership to further grow and continue Monmouth Medical Center's reputation as a leader in women's healthcare Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing physicians and advanced practice providers while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Advance quality, safety, patient experience, and operational performance initiatives throughout the department Lead physician recruitment, retention, research, succession planning, and faculty development efforts Expand and strengthen both general OB/GYN and subspecialty programs to meet the evolving needs of the community Promote collaboration across departments, service lines, and academic partners to support clinical, educational, and strategic objectives Serve as a visible and engaged leader who fosters strong relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and community stakeholders Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $450,000 to $550,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
