No County Queens Street Address Creedmoor Psychiatric Center 79-25 Winchester Blvd. City Queens Village State NY Zip Code 11427 Duties Description Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (CPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrists for their inpatient units located in Queens, NY. As a Psychiatrist at CPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered, and recovery- focused treatments for individuals with mental health symptoms 18 years of age or older; including:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
- Creating treatment plans including medication management
- Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
- Providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy
Supervising Psychiatric Residents and Fellows About CPC:
CPC, one of the largest and culturally diverse OMH facilities, provides a continuum of care for individuals from the borough of Queens who require intermediate and extended mental health treatment through inpatient and outpatient services. CPC is a large, urban facility with 337 inpatient beds, 146 outpatient residential beds, an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, and a wide array of other outpatient programs. CPC's comprehensive service delivery focuses on individualized and person-centered care. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program if they have: Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
