Locum Occupational Medicine / Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO)

1 Overview We are seeking a Locum Occupational Medicine / Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO) to provide outpatient clinical coverage in a busy Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care setting. The physician will evaluate and treat both scheduled and walk-in patients, providing comprehensive occupational health and urgent care services. The ideal candidate will have experience managing work-related injuries, performing employment and regulatory physical examinations, and delivering urgent care treatment. This role may also include collaboration with and clinical oversight of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) as needed. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat occupational injuries and illnesses. Evaluate and manage workers' compensation cases. Provide urgent care services for walk-in and scheduled patients. Perform DOT, pre-employment, surveillance, public safety, and return-to-work physical examinations. Perform suturing and other office-based procedures. Communicate treatment plans and work status recommendations to employer clients. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation. Collaborate with and supervise Advanced Practice Providers as needed. Provide medical guidance and consultation to employers and clinic staff. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Active and unrestricted state medical license. Active and unrestricted DEA registration. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or a related primary care specialty. Ability to practice independently and manage patients autonomously. Experience in Occupational Medicine. Experience in Urgent Care. Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing office-based procedures. Ability to perform suturing independently. DOT Medical Examiner Certification required prior to start date.
