Just real clinical impact with a team that handles the rest. About the Role This is a part-time, remote consulting role. The psychiatrist will conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for new patients via telehealth and serve as the supervising clinician for a team of nurse practitioners and other mid-level providers who carry out ongoing medication management and follow-up care. The psychiatrist establishes the diagnosis, develops the initial treatment plan, and then works collaboratively with the mid-level team to ensure that plan is being followed and adjusted appropriately over time. This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who wants a meaningful supplemental engagement — one that fits around an existing practice or other commitments — without the demands of a traditional clinical schedule. What You Will Do Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for new assisted living and skilled nursing patients via telehealth Establish diagnoses and develop initial treatment plans that will guide ongoing care by the mid-level team Supervise a team of nurse practitioners and mid-level providers, ensuring care plans are being implemented correctly and adjusted as clinical needs evolve Review documentation and provide guidance on complex or escalating cases Serve as the clinical authority for the program — available to the mid-level team for consultation and sign-off on treatment decisions as needed Participate in brief scheduled check-ins with the clinical team to review patient progress and address clinical questions Ensure clinical standards, documentation quality, and scope of practice are maintained across the team What This Role Is Not You will not be doing ongoing follow-up visits — that is handled by the mid-level team You will not be required to see patients in person — this is a fully remote telehealth role You will not be managing administrative or billing functions Schedule and Time Commitment Part-time and flexible, structured around evaluation volume and team consultation needs Evaluations are scheduled in advance and coordinated by our Care Coordinator team — no cold scheduling or patient outreach required Supervisory functions can largely be performed asynchronously, with brief scheduled team touchpoints Ability to maintain an existing practice or other professional commitments is fully supported Compensation Competitive flat consulting fee, commensurate with evaluation volume and supervisory responsibilities Compensation scales as the program grows 1099 independent contractor arrangement Required Qualifications MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry Active, unrestricted medical license in good standing Active DEA registration Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatry Comfort conducting psychiatric evaluations via telehealth Willingness to serve in a supervisory and collaborative capacity with a mid-level clinical team Strong documentation habits and clinical judgment Preferred Qualifications Board certification in Geriatric Psychiatry or experience with older adult populations in long-term care or assisted living Prior experience supervising nurse practitioners or physician assistants Additional licensure in New Jersery Familiarity with collaborative care models or integrated behavioral health Why Theris We built our model around one principle: the psychiatrist should be able to focus on what only a psychiatrist can do.
