A Podiatrist diagnoses and treats ailments and abnormalities of the human foot and lower limb, deals with minor infections, injuries and deformities, and conditions resulting from other major health disorders such as diabetes.
Position Overview The Podiatrist will provide comprehensive outpatient podiatric services at Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC) in Winterhaven, California. The selected provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with accepted clinical standards and best practices.

Outpatient Clinic Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) No weekends or Federal holidays unless otherwise authorized. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with foot and ankle disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings. Perform podiatric procedures within the scope of practice, including wound care, nail care, debridement, injections, and other minor surgical procedures. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as clinically appropriate. Prescribe medications, orthotics, and other conservative treatment options. Educate patients on foot health, diabetic foot care, injury prevention, and treatment plans. Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers when necessary. Document patient encounters accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Maintain compliance with all facility policies, quality standards, and patient safety requirements. Minimum Qualifications Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited college of podiatric medicine. Active, unrestricted license to practice Podiatric Medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program. Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience as a practicing Podiatrist. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR).
