Reporting directly to the Medical Director of Surgical Services with dotted-line collaboration to the OR Nurse Manager, the Surgical Podiatrist receives full support from seasoned scrub techs, exceptional perioperative nurses, advanced practice providers, physical therapy and care management, and readily available specialty consults; as a Surgical Physician Podiatry surgeon, responsibilities span OR block time, clinic sessions, inpatient consults, call participation, evidence-based order sets, quality-improvement involvement, and teaching opportunities with rotating learners—supported by friendly nurses, a diverse healthcare professional team, and a Just Culture approach that values feedback and continuous improvement.
Settle into northern Maine as a Surgical Podiatrist and enjoy four-season outdoor living with pristine lakes, rugged coastline, endless trails, skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, and hiking; beyond nature, a Surgical Physician Podiatry professional will find intimate concert venues, lively fairs and festivals, farm-to-table cuisine (hello, local seafood and blueberries), short commutes, affordable housing, low crime, strong K-12 schools, nearby higher education options, reliable healthcare access, expanding broadband, vibrant community life, inclusive neighborhoods, gyms and fitness studios, convenient shopping, family-friendly parks, senior services, clean air, and a practical cost of living; add in regional airports with easy connections, bikeable town centers, entrepreneurial energy, steady economic development, a calm social climate, ample privacy thanks to low density, and quick escapes to national and provincial parks—everything a Surgical Physician Podiatry specialist needs for balance and belonging.
