[Part-Time / Full-Time / Contract] Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and qualified Podiatric Medical Director to provide clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision for our podiatry services and clinical team. The Medical Director will work closely with Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered podiatric care. The Medical Director will serve as a clinical resource for the team and help establish and maintain appropriate clinical protocols, treatment standards, quality assurance processes, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for podiatry services. Supervise and provide clinical guidance to PAs, NPs, nurses, and other clinical staff, as permitted by applicable law. Serve as the supervising/collaborating physician or medical director as required by applicable state regulations. Establish, review, and maintain appropriate podiatric clinical protocols and treatment guidelines. Provide consultation to PAs and NPs regarding complex patient cases, diagnoses, treatment plans, and referrals. Conduct or participate in periodic chart reviews and quality assurance activities. Assist in establishing standards for patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and documentation. Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical practices. Provide guidance regarding appropriate diagnostic testing, referrals, procedures, medications, and treatment plans. Support compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations. Collaborate with practice leadership to develop and improve clinical policies and procedures. Be available for clinical consultation and escalation of cases requiring physician/podiatric physician involvement. Help ensure that all clinical staff practice within their applicable scope of practice, training, and licensure. Participate in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and other activities as mutually agreed upon. Qualifications DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) degree from an accredited institution. Active, unrestricted podiatric medical license in the applicable state. Board certification or board eligibility preferred. Current DEA registration, if applicable. Active professional liability/malpractice coverage or ability to obtain coverage. Experience providing clinical supervision or oversight of PAs, NPs, nurses, or other healthcare providers preferred. Strong knowledge of podiatric medicine, wound care, diabetic foot care, and related clinical services. Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
