Position Overview This is a full-time clinical and surgical position offering exposure to a broad spectrum of foot and ankle pathology. Our practice treats conditions involving the forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot, and ankle . Candidates must have completed appropriate podiatric medical and surgical residency training and should be comfortable managing both surgical and nonsurgical foot and ankle conditions. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to develop his or her own patient base, surgical volume, and professional reputation within the community. Typical clinical volume is approximately 20-30 patients per day , with a regular weekly surgical schedule . Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a physician who is: A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) who has completed appropriate podiatric medical and surgical residency training Eligible for appropriate Texas licensure, credentialing, and surgical privileges Board qualified/eligible or board certified, as applicable Trained in comprehensive foot and ankle surgery involving the forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot, and ankle Comfortable evaluating and managing both surgical and nonsurgical patients Personable, patient, compassionate, and professional An excellent communicator with a strong bedside manner Able to interact respectfully and effectively with patients, families, staff, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals Capable of working efficiently in a busy clinical environment Motivated to build a strong professional reputation and long-term patient base Willing to contribute his or her share of the work required to grow a successful practice Interested in developing professionally and financially as the practice continues to grow New residency graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Clinical & Surgical Responsibilities The physician will: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of foot and ankle conditions Develop appropriate conservative and surgical treatment plans Manage approximately 20-30 patients per clinical day Perform appropriate office-based procedures Evaluate and manage surgical candidates Participate in a regular weekly surgical schedule Perform foot and ankle procedures within the physician's demonstrated training, competency, credentialing, and privileges Provide appropriate preoperative and postoperative care Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Communicate professionally with referring physicians and other healthcare providers Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients Provide compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care Participate in the continued development and growth of the practice Surgical Autonomy & Initial Observation Period Our goal is for the incoming physician to develop substantial autonomy over his or her own patients and surgical cases . The position will begin with an initial orientation, observation, and competency-assessment period, generally lasting approximately 1-3 months , depending on the physician's experience, training, and demonstrated capabilities. During this period, we will evaluate clinical judgment, surgical capability, patient management, documentation, communication, professionalism, and readiness for independent practice. Once competency has been demonstrated and all necessary credentialing and privileges are in place, the physician will have substantial autonomy in managing his or her own clinical and surgical cases within the physician's scope of training and privileges. For a motivated new graduate, this provides an excellent opportunity to transition from residency into independent practice while working within an established and experienced foot and ankle surgical environment.
