Job Description

10-Month School Psychometrist Psychological Services Certified Job Number 2300290158 Start Date Open Date 04/06/2026 Closing Date The duties include but are not limited to: Serves as a consultant to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies for planning and implementing methods/interventions to maximize learning and adjustment of students. Communicates effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Attends IEP Team meetings for referral, eligibility, and IEP, as necessary. Administers and interprets individual psychoeducational evaluations for all age levels. Completes comprehensive written reports. Assists in the planning, development, and evaluation/monitoring of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs through data based decision making. Applies ethics/standards of professional practice and observes relevant laws and policies that govern practices. Participates in professional organizations and continually seeks to improve professional knowledge and skills. Provides in service training to parents and staff on relevant topics. Utilizes PowerSchool SIS (Student Information Systems) and PowerSchool Special Programs. Travels to various schools or other sites as assigned. Attends scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as required. Supervises interns as assigned. Assures procedural safeguards and maintains confidentiality of records and data in all sources. Recognizes issues of diversity that affect routine interactions and effectively meet these diverse needs. Performs others duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education and the Supervisor of Psychological Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Master's Degree in School Psychology, or Psychometry from a regionally accredited college or university approved by the Alabama State Department of Education. Must hold Class A or AA Certification as Psychometrist or School Psychologist by Alabama State Department of Education. Three (3) years of teaching experience or Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) is preferred. Must have typing skills and familiarity with word processing and database software. Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications as the Executive Director of Special Education may find appropriate and acceptable. Duty Days 202

Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
