Until filled Responsibilities include:

• Assist special education teachers and special education site administrators in the IEP process including the discipline for students with IEPs.
• Serve as a resource to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team and other personnel in preparation for the follow-up of student placement.
• Coordinate with outside public agencies in the provision of services to students with exceptional needs.
• Be knowledgeable of all programs available within the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) and serve as a resource to the IEP team on request.
• Provide consultation to general and special education staffs.
• Assist teachers in IEP development as needed.
• Act as administrative designee for IEP meetings as needed.
• Provide assistance to school personnel in the accommodation and modification of curriculum to individuals with special needs.
• Be knowledgeable of IDEA and Title V regulations and other laws pertaining to special education.
• Be able to think creatively, mediate and resolve issues concerning the IEP process including assessment and placement.
• Administers individual tests to students which measure intellectual development, academic achievement, social/adaptive behavior, and psycho-motor development.
• Writes multidisciplinary reports, including data, interpretations, and recommendations from all contributors.
• Interprets assessment findings to parents, students, and professional personnel in the context of I.E.P. (Individual Education Program) meetings and individual requests, and to other community resources as requested by parents.
• Counsels and confers with parents and professional staff on applying assessment findings in order to develop an appropriate educational environment for specific students.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess Pupil Personnel Certificate (in the area of School Psychology) Collaboration with multidisciplinary team Knowledge of assessment techniques Knowledge of counseling approaches Experience at the secondary level preferred Good writing and communication skills Knowledge of special education populations Expertise in IEP development Expertise in facilitating IEP meetings 2627-34 August 6, 2026

Salary & Benefits:

Range:

$81,357 - $124,155 annually for psychologists new to the District, based on education and experience. Salary for current District employees based on current placement on the salary schedule. Comprehensive health, dental, vision and family benefits, including employee life insurance.
