Full Job Description Job Description:
Assess students for school-related psychological issues using standardized tests, write detailed reports, and make recommendations for treatment plans and/or services based on assessment results. Present findings of assessments to IEP Team and families in IEP meetings. Screen students for potential psychological issues related to their ability to function in their educational environment. Collaborate with teachers and families to create 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids with developmental, learning, or behavioral delays Counsel students and parents if applicable and referring them to further resources when needed Provide mental health services to students as needed Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and program Work with at-risk youth who are in need of educational intervention to help them achieve success Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student psychological, health, and academic records
Qualifications:
Active school psychology license in the state of California Experience working as a school interventionist or psychologist Firm understanding of child and school psychology Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist Excellent communication skills with both children and adults Ability to maintain and organize confidential records Understanding and commitment to following all related laws and standards Organizational, scheduling and planning skills to manage complex schedule, and the schedule of many students
About Bridge The Gap Sped:
Bridge the Gap Sped (BTG) was established in 2019 by occupational therapist with a rich background as a school-based therapist and leader working within Southern California school systems and charters. It continues to thrive and grow as a supportive therapist-run, small-medium sized non-public agency based in San Marcos, California. BTG is made up of a team of dedicated therapists and educators with rich hands-on experience and a deeply held desire to make a difference within the populations we serve. Our network of credentialed therapists, psychologists and counselors, social workers, special education teachers, as well as behavior specialists and assistants is available to traditional school districts, charter schools, and private schools. Our team members provide comprehensive and personalized services for students, as well as professional collaboration with other professionals, staff members, and families.
