Faith-Based Fully Licensed School-Based Therapist (1099 Independent Contractor) Barrow County, Georgia | Part-Time (20 Hours/Week; Hours May Vary Based on Caseload) | Hybrid (School-Based & Telehealth When Clinically Appropriate)
Join Our Team:
Absolute Wellness Behavioral & Nutritional Health Center is seeking a compassionate, experienced, faith-based , trauma-informed Fully Licensed Therapist to provide school-based behavioral health services to students in grades 6-12 within Barrow County Schools. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position with an anticipated schedule of 20 hours per week . Actual hours may vary based on student referrals, caseload, school needs, and contract requirements. This position requires travel to assigned Barrow County school locations, with hybrid (telehealth) services provided when clinically appropriate and permitted.Position Responsibilities:
The School-Based Therapist will: Provide individual psychotherapy to students in grades 6-12. Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group counseling sessions. Conduct crisis intervention, crisis assessments, and stabilization services as clinically indicated. Complete behavioral health assessments and formulateDSM-5-TR
diagnoses. Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans. Develop and maintain safety plans when clinically appropriate. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries. Monitor treatment progress and modify interventions based on clinical need. Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally responsive behavioral health services. Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other members of the student's support team. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care coordination. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, organizational policies, and professional ethical standards.Required Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Georgia license as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist . Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field. Experience providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents in grades 6-12. Strong knowledge and experience utilizing theDSM-5-TR
for diagnosis and treatment planning. Experience developing treatment plans, safety plans, behavioral health assessments, and clinical documentation. Experience conducting crisis intervention and risk assessments. Training and experience in trauma-informed care. Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with families, school personnel, and multidisciplinary teams. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to Barrow County school locations.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous school-based behavioral health experience. Experience working within MTSS, PBIS, and school-based behavioral health models. Experience providing telehealth services. Comfortable providing faith-sensitive counseling when requested by students or families and clinically appropriate, while respecting the diverse beliefs and preferences of those served.
