REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree or higher in school psychology or educational psychology, including a minimum of 60 semester hours of psychology Completion of a nine-month internship in school psychology Professional Educator's License with School Psychologist endorsement
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide individual psychological examinations, interpret those findings and generate recommendations that will lead to meaningful experiences for the child Demonstrate readiness and/or prior training in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Participate as a team member in multidisciplinary educational staffings for determination of educational objectives and need for special education placement and/or supportive services Provide direct service as appropriate to the needs of the students, individually or as a group Participate in parent education and the development of parent understanding Consult with teachers and other school personnel in relation to behavior management and learning problems With Internship Supervisor(s) supervision, provide crisis intervention services including violence threat assessments and suicide assessments Demonstrate effective oral and written communication techniques Work cooperatively with personnel of school, community, health, and social welfare agencies as a member of a team Demonstrate professional growth and development through continued in-service training, observation, and study, particularly with respect to ethical consideration and legal aspects related to school psychology Other such duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor and/or Director of Student Support Services
