Job Description

Overview This position is located at the Naval Branch Health Clinic Gulfport, Dir of Mental Health, Gulfport, MS. This position is as a Mental Health Consultant (MHC). Personal office space at Medical Homeport will be provided. Hours of operation 0700-1530. Civilian Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health Consultant) This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Up to-$138,370 per year

https://civilianmedicaljobs.com/benefits/ Responsibilities Duties Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose mental health interventions. Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches. Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care. Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic. Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

Clinical Psychologist:
Degree:
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes conducting mental health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Licensure:
This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
