Principal and Directors Job Summary:

The School Psychologist provides evaluation, counseling and teacher consultation for students and families identified by the CPSE as a child with a disability as outlined in part 200 regulations of IDEA. The School Psychologist utilizes principles of growth and development in establishing guidelines for implementation of the student's IEP. The School Psychologist provides services in conformance with the New York State Practice Act. Can also do FBA's and BIP's for children as needed.

Qualifications:

v Masters' Degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution v Bilingual Extension to certification as a School Psychologist v Experience in assessing and treating preschoolers with a disability

Job Responsibilities:

v Provide counseling services as mandated on child's IEP v Complete all required paperwork—progress reports, report cards, IEP pages, and session notes v Meet with Principal and Teachers weekly and as needed v Perform initial evaluations and write up reports including results and recommendations v Consult with teachers regarding general classroom management and individual student concerns v Conduct weekly Team Meetings v Provide support and training in Behavior Management for Teaching Assistants v Provide Parent Workshops in Behavior Management, Parenting, IEP Review and Transitioning to Kindergarten, etc. v Observe and monitor students in their classrooms and assess effectiveness of Behavior Management Plans v Conduct school tours for parents of prospective students. v Conduct/facilitate parent meetings with child's team v Attend to emergency situations regarding child abuse and neglect as prescribed by the Principal and/or
