THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections who is ready to bring strong leadership, clear focus, and meaningful purpose to psychological services. In this role, you guide clinical programming, support a skilled team, and help coordinate treatment for inmates with a wide range of needs. You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that value confident decision making and dependable leadership. This position offers meaningful challenge, visible impact, and the opportunity to drive positive change at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Camp Hill.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position manages psychological services at SCI Camp Hill and supports the development, evaluation, and coordination of treatment within the institution. The role oversees clinical services, supports staff performance, and ensures appropriate psychological care. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:

Staff Supervision:

Direct psychological staff, oversee evaluations, guide counseling activities, and support crisis intervention

Program Development:

Assist in creating and integrating policies, develop counseling programs, and participate in research efforts

Committee Leadership:

Lead key institutional committees that oversee reception, suicide review, psychiatric care, and critical incident support

Clinical Standards:

Establish competencies and privileges, review psychological measures, and prepare diagnostic and progress reports

Consultation Services:

Advise behavioral management and special needs programs, collaborate with treatment teams, and support staff discussions

Legal Compliance:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday

  • Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirement:

You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
