Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment serving K-8 students and make a real impact as a contract School Psychologist. This full-time opportunity is available immediately through the end of the school year. You'll work on-site five days a week, supporting a caseload of approximately 670 students and collaborating closely with a dedicated team of educators and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and social development. Deliver individual and group counseling to support students' mental health and well-being. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student behavioral and academic needs. Design and implement targeted interventions for students with emotional or behavioral concerns. Actively contribute to IEP meetings, supporting individualized goal setting for student success. Provide timely crisis intervention and support during periods of student distress. Offer education and guidance to staff and families on mental health resources and topics. Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in maintaining assessment records and intervention documentation. Perform additional related duties as assigned to best support student needs.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology. Valid South Carolina School Psychologist certification. Previous experience with K-8 students in a school environment highly desirable. Expertise in psychological assessment, counseling, and intervention planning. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. In-depth understanding of the mental health challenges facing children and adolescents.
