Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students with intensive social, emotional, and behavioral needs. As a School Psychologist for the Promising Students Program, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive, trauma-informed behavioral and mental health interventions. This role focuses on early intervention, fostering emotional resilience, and helping students build essential problem-solving and interpersonal skills that support academic achievement. Candidates who combine expertise in behavioral counseling with a passion for school-based psychology will thrive in this environment, working collaboratively to help students overcome barriers and succeed. What you'll bring: Valid School Psychologist credential/certification (state eligibility required) Demonstrated experience with behavioral counseling and trauma-informed care Skilled in conducting psychoeducational and behavioral assessments Knowledge of Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) process Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Strong communication and consultation skills for teamwork with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams Ability to contribute meaningfully to IEP and Section 504 meetings Key responsibilities: Deliver individual and small-group counseling Perform comprehensive educational and behavioral evaluations Complete FBAs and help develop & monitor BIPs Support the MTSS framework across the district Partner with staff and caregivers to strengthen student support Play an active role in crisis response and safety planning Develop detailed transition plans for student reintegration This full-time position spans 37.5 hours per week and offers a dynamic environment dedicated to student growth, emotional wellness, and inclusive practices.
