Schedule:
Typical hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM•4:00 PM Job Summary Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services across district campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & IEP Development Administer assessments and observations to evaluate intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Determine special education eligibility per federal and state regulations; write evaluation reports and behavior management plans. Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings to assist with placement and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. Case-manage and implement the special education assessment process on assigned campuses. Consultation & Counseling Meet with parents to review background information and test results. Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Consult with teachers and campus staff on assessment interpretation and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Coordinate with external specialists (psychiatrists, doctors, community agencies) as needed. Present staff development training and potentially serve on district behavioral threat assessment teams. Program Management & Other Maintain accurate case records, test inventories, and required regulatory documentation. Provide clinical supervision to interns or trainees as needed. Follow district safety protocols, board policies, and maintain professional confidentiality.
The company is looking for:
Education:
Masters degree in psychology from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) or a Trainee Status Letter issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
Experience:
One year of experience providing psychology services in an educational setting preferred.
Language:
English (No bilingual requirement).
Background Requirement:
Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check. Due to the nature of the employer's business, company policy requires that candidates with a criminal background will not be considered for employment.
