Full-Time Position Summary Under the general direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy treatments to patients. The Radiation Therapist operates radiation therapy equipment, verifies treatment plans and patient information, performs treatment setup and delivery, and maintains compliance with departmental, regulatory, and radiation safety standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical competency, teamwork, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care. Essential Functions

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's treatment plan.
• Review and verify patient identification, treatment prescriptions, treatment plans, imaging, and treatment parameters prior to treatment delivery.
• Perform patient positioning, immobilization, image guidance, and treatment verification according to established protocols.
• Operate and maintain competency with radiation therapy treatment equipment and associated systems.
• Monitor patients during treatment and recognize changes in patient condition requiring intervention or notification of the Radiation Oncologist or clinical team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the department's electronic information systems.
• Utilize radiation oncology information systems, including ARIA and/or MOSAIQ, for treatment documentation, scheduling, treatment records, and related clinical workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Medical Assistants, and other members of the multidisciplinary oncology team.
• Perform quality assurance and safety checks as required by departmental policies and regulatory standards.
• Follow all applicable radiation safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in simulation, treatment planning, image-guided radiation therapy, and other radiation oncology workflows as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable federal and California regulations.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and culturally sensitive patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings, education, training, competencies, and continuing professional development.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
• Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
• Current and valid California Radiation Therapist license/certification as required by applicable California regulations.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (T).
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation therapy principles, treatment techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety.
• Demonstrated ability to operate radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow treatment prescriptions and established clinical protocols.
• Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times. Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working in a Radiation Oncology department.
• Previous experience with ARIA and/or MOSAIQ radiation oncology information systems is strongly preferred. Candidates with demonstrated proficiency in either system are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience with electronic treatment records and treatment verification systems.
• Experience with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
• Experience with CT simulation and treatment setup.
• Experience with modern radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and/or other advanced treatment modalities.
• Familiarity with radiation oncology workflows, treatment planning systems, and electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
• Experience working in a high-volume outpatient Radiation Oncology environment.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care, quality, and radiation safety. Licenses & Certifications
