Assignment Details:
- 16-week assignment
- 8-hour day shifts
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid MN RN license or MN Temp Permit-RN
- Current BLS certification
- PEARS or PALS certification
- Completion of Pediatric Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Course through APHON or equivalent within the past 5 years
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with pediatric hematology/oncology patients
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess pediatric patients before, during, and after chemotherapy/infusion
- Safely administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications
- Vigilantly monitor and promptly respond to side effects and adverse reactions
- Manage central venous access devices, practicing strict sterile technique
- Provide symptom management and supportive care, including pain and nausea control
- Educate patients and families on treatments, side effects, and post-care
- Offer emotional support to both patients and caregivers
- Effectively collaborate with oncologists and multidisciplinary teams
- Accurately document all care within the Cerner system
