Qualifications:
Valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy State licensure as a Radiation Therapist (or eligibility) Proven experience operating radiation therapy equipment Strong understanding of treatment planning and dosimetry Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for patient care and team collaboration Ability to ensure precision and safety in all radiation treatment procedures
Responsibilities:
Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients following physician orders and established protocols Operate and maintain complex radiation therapy equipment with adherence to safety regulations Accurately document treatments, patient reactions, and machine settings in compliance with regulatory requirements Work collaboratively with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes Provide reassurance, education, and support to patients and families throughout treatment cycles Monitor patients for treatment side effects or complications, reporting concerns promptly to clinical staff Observe and implement quality assurance protocols to ensure the highest standard of care
