Job Description

Job Summary :
Primarily responsible for assisting specialist during the care delivery visits and assisting patient optimum comfort, understanding of treatment process and responsible for producing high quality patient X-ray films.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint. Document pain scores as appropriate.
  • Report condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician
  • Assist providers with exams and minor in any office/location with procedures and acts as chaperon as needed
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing including phlebotomy
  • Use universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed
  • Coordinate and manage patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests
  • Responsible for communicating test results to patient.
  • Provide complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas.
  • Disinfect equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.
  • Follow manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances.
  • Perform basic maintenance of equipment and coordinate needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
  • Order supplies and stock patient care areas. Monitor inventory including medications & injectables and X-ray supplies.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers.
  • Must be able to travel between 2 locations.

Credentials and Experience:
Requires a high school diploma
  • medical assistant certificate
  • x-ray permit
CPR/BLS Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
