TheChristianaCare Foulk Road location is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Flex, day shift 36 hours per week MRI Technologist I.
Shift:
7:45am - 4:15pm This position is 36 hours per week full-time flex.Primary Function:
The primary function is performance of diagnostic and specialty MRI examinations in accordance with established procedures and protocols of the department. The MRI tech I can perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit.Principle Responsibilities:
- Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to scan patients with ventilator support, general anesthesia support, pacemakers, and other specialty needs.
- Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Administers all contrast media under physician's supervision.
- Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
- Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
- Completes transmission of optimum quality images to PACS system, performs QC on scans.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Consistently uses two patient identifiers.
- Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MR Scanner Units and Radiology supported computer systems.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
- Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
- Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire)
- Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
- Minimum of an associate degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
- State licensure required.
- Certification in CPR.
Special Requirements:
- Delaware State licensure required.
- The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement.
