Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Interventional Radiology (IR) Radiologic Technologist, where your expertise in medical imaging and radiologic procedures will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients through minimally invasive, image-guided interventions. In this energetic role, you will operate advanced radiologic equipment, assist with complex interventional procedures, and ensure the highest standards of radiation safety and patient care. Your skills will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes within a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to excellence in radiology services. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including fluoroscopy, angiography, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, CT scans, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound (sonography). Prepare and operate radiologic imaging equipment with precision, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all procedures. Assist physicians during complex interventional radiology procedures such as biopsies, catheter placements, embolizations, and other minimally invasive treatments. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures clearly, ensuring comfort, and maintaining aseptic techniques throughout interventions. Monitor patient physiology during procedures, recognizing signs of distress or complications promptly. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including emergency room staff and trauma centers to support urgent care cases and Level I/II trauma scenarios. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology such as PET scans, MRI compatibility with interventional devices, and radiation safety procedures to continually enhance service quality. Experience Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, fluoroscopy systems, CT scanners, mammography units, DEXA scanners, PET scanners, and nuclear medicine cameras. Prior work in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly preferred to handle high-pressure situations efficiently. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers demonstrating ability to perform under demanding conditions. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for accurate imaging and diagnostic evaluation across diverse patient populations. Familiarity with implementing radiation safety protocols and maintaining compliance with health regulations is required. Strong background in medical terminology coupled with excellent patient care skills to ensure compassionate service during stressful procedures. Additional experience in interventional radiography techniques such as angiography or embolization enhances your candidacy.
